Each chapter is designed around a specific theoretical topic, similar to many written theory textbooks currently in use. However, the approach presented in Contemporary Musicianship allows for in-depth study of performances or songwriting techniques and how a specific theoretical principle is used in the music.

May be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in Music 411 and 612, or consent of instructor.
